École Queen Alexandra School fosters high academic learning through excellence in teaching and commitment to allow for the growth of each student as they excel socially, academically and physically. We are committed to creating a thriving, dynamic and inspiring educational environment that produces self-directed learners to confidently prepare them for the future. We also strive to have all students become strong readers and writers. We believe that effective reading and writing is at the core of so many learning experiences.
In collaboration with parents and our community partners, students maximize their potential by being supported through developing behaviours necessary for their success in school and their chosen career pathway. Students integrate the MindUp program and Zones of Regulation to learn about their own brain and learning environment to optimize their learning. We create a positive, safe environment in which students, parents, teachers and community members work together to support the mental health and wellness of our students. We also believe in the restorative power of nature and know that children learn best in an environment of cooperation and trust.

In partnership with parents, we strive to provide a stimulating and secure learning environment that enables students to grow and thrive while learning French; one of Canada's official languages.
French Immersion provides students with opportunities to acquire and maintain language skills in French and English. Students will develop language, literacy and numeracy skills to communicate in both languages. Students will learn about French culture, traditions and celebrations. Our School Council, staff and students continually refine our work to ensure École Queen Alexandra provides a premier French education for families in south-west Edmonton.
